Difference Between Inkjet and Laser Printer
Printer is the need of each individual in today's life. Either he/she need to print his notes, photos or documents. This article shows the comparison between the inkjet and laser printers on the bases of technology, cost and reliability and will help the purchaser to make a better choice.
When we want to buy a printer then we need to know that which kind of printing we require and how much budget we have. Inkjet printers are slightly cheaper than laser but they are based on old technology and use cartridges. It uses 4 or 5 cartridges for its operation and each cartridge costs about 20$. These cartridges last for about 500-700 pages and then we have to replace them. On the other hand in case of laser printer, only initial investment is bit large. As it uses toner, which can resist about 3000 prints easily. We can refill its toner from market easily. So for people with limited budget, the type of printer is a good choice.
Our choice of buying printer also depends upon the type of printing we require. If we want to take out high quality coloured prints of our photos then we need to think about photo printers, which basically work on inkjet technology. They consist of about 6 to 7 cartridges and give high quality output. On the other hand if we want a printer for our office or our desire is to takeout prints of text documents which require only single colour then we have no need to spend huge amount on coloured inkjet printers. In this case laser printers are perfect choice.
Reliability is one of the main factors affecting our choice of purchasing hardware. Inkjet printers sometimes cannot resist printing for a longer period of time, whereas laser printers are less temperamental. Laser printers are simple to use and resist malfunctioning. Speed of both printers also differs on the basis of their technologies. Laser printer is much faster in printing text as well as images. On the other hand inkjet printer has to spray ink for each pixel of image so its speed is slow in this case. On the basis of cost, speed, reliability and technology laser printers are much better choice to buy and hopefully this article has helped a little bit to strengthen the decision of the purchaser.
